Three caves in the country

Emma writes:
Day 22

Today we went to three caves. The first cave (Lascaux II) had all these pictures of animals like buffalo, horses and goats. They were drawn 20,000 years ago. I liked that we went into a real cave with lots of pictures on it.

In the second cave (Roque St-Christophe) there was lots to see. People have lived there for 55,000 years.  We saw a giant catapault for smashing armies down.  We saw their secret safe ( but the door was gone).

At the third cave (Gouffre de Proumessyac) we went to a sound and light show. If you paid an extra 10 euro then one of you would get to be pulled down in the basket through a hole the cave. There was water pouring down.  There were stalagmites and stalagtites.

After the caves we got an icecream. Holly and I got raspberry( framboise) and James got salted caramel (caramel buerre sel). We went home and jumped in the pool. Luckily our house has three pool noodles.  It was freezing after it started raining.

  1. How cool, living back then was a lot of hard work. How good is french icecream, as good as ours?

  2. No it is not the same as the ice cream in New Zealand. It is not as good. But James thinks French ice cream is better.
